Well the strawberry slots for this evening filled in 7 minutes, so I deleted the post. We will do it again in a few days. The field is ripening really sporadically this year so going to have to keep the groups small for now. We will be able to do slots for the next few weeks. So keep an eye out.

Btw we are doing $4 a lb this year for strawberries!

Strawberries will be ready in about 2 weeks weather dependent. The crop looks very good this spring with very little freeze damage, however, the amount of plants we have at the mature stage is smaller than normal. Keep an eye out for picking windows!

We added about 3 miles worth of strawberry rows this spring. About half of those are everbearing so we will hopefully have a great mid summer-fall crop available as well! Next spring we should have a very good crop over all as we have employed a new weed control method and all 3 miles of rows will be mature.

A lot of you have probably heard, but we have officially closed on the purchase of Berry and Nut Farm!

Would like to say a special thanks to Joe and Sharon Culbreth for working with us on this purchase. Joe has been such an inspiration! He started these farms in his early 70’s, proving it’s never too late to go after your dreams and create something awesome. We have learned a lot from him and plan to see him at the farm often.

We picked up 70 egg layers yesterday! We plan to keep the roadside stand on Boekel well stocked by mid summer.

Excited for the upcoming season! As more and more of the fields come into maturity, our blueberry production will be doubling this year! 🫐

We are restarting a large portion of the strawberry field. We are trying a new method of weed control which will hopefully work this time! We expect to have slightly less berries to pick this year unfortunately, but next year should be great! 🍓

We plan to do some major improvements on signage and parking which has been an ongoing struggle. 🪧 🚗

The pumpkin patch is looking great and am hoping to be ready by the end of September!

There’s still strawberries in the purple and green flagged rows (last pic). $3.75 a lb. Scale and buckets have been moved back to the strawberry stand for the remainder of the season. Come at your own risk as I won’t be checking the patch that often.

Blueberries are come at your own risk at this point. Since we are self serve we are still staying open. One lady still managed to pick 10 gallons yesterday so you can still find em!

It’s hard to capture how great the picking is out here right now!

Here is a little map I drew up on the varieties out there to help you all to figure out where you want to pick. I don’t have great signage so using your maps app while out here will help you figure it out which varieties you want to pick.

Duke (white), winding down for the season but the square white section on the map still has a lot in there.

Blue crop (green), section 1 has a ton but smaller berries. #2 has pretty good picking in the orange squiggles within the green.

Huron (grey), good picking.

Blue gold (orange), tons of berries, some smaller some bigger, some not ripe yet, we are removing this section this fall so if you like them, this is your last chance!

Chandler (purple), these are the famous big berries, section 1, 2, and 4 have more ripe berries but these don’t ripen in clusters like the other berries, more so onesies/twosies. Area 3 needs a bit more time.

Calypso (pink), big tasty clusters, small plants. Great picking.

Top shelf (red), good picking, excellent flavor.

Valor (Blue), large clusters of very large & tasty berries, excellent picking in the orange squiggles within the blue.

Elliot (black). Not ripe yet.

Strawberries are pretty much done for now. Everbearing plants will continue to produce and I will let y’all know when there is enough to pick.

There’s still some strawberries out there so if you want to just mosey around and pick some you can but any attempts to pick large quantities may be difficult.

Keep an eye out for blueberry picking times.

On another note, we have had several incidents already this year where the irrigation houses get ran into and it busts the irrigation lines. Please be careful out there and pay attention to your surroundings.

My 2 girls and I picked this 17 lbs in 22 minutes this morning. We do know the best spots though 😉

Berry size is decreasing as the season goes on, lots of medium and small berries though and the pink flagged varieties flavor is outstanding.

We aren't considered organic because we fertilize our plants.

"Do you spray?"

We do not spray our berries, vegetables, or nuts. We do spray our fruit trees with copper to prevent worms.

We are in full blown work mode 24/7: mowing 15 acres every couple days, checking and fixing irrigation, weeding constantly, PLANTING like crazy. This year we will mostly have strawberries, blueberries, and pumpkins.
